Media Binge – My Favorite Music of 2015

It’s that time again! Here are the songs I was obsessed with in 2015:

  1. “Nobody Really Cares If You Don’t Go To The Party” by Courtney Barnett (This whole album, called “Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Think” is amazing)
  2. “Past Lives” by BORNS (Another great whole album. Every song on “Dopamine” is great and could have made this list. I got to see him live a few months ago and it was one of the best live shows I’ve seen in a long, long time)
  3. “Leave A Trace” by CHVRCHES
  4. “Entropy” by Grimes and Bleachers
  5. “Sea Creatures” by SOAK (another great live show from this year)
  6. “Style” by Ryan Adams (I put T-Swifty on the list last year and almost did again this year. This was the compromise track)
  7. “The Wrong Year” by The Decemberists (The very first song added to the playlist, back on Jan 26th. And it lasted the whole year)
  8. “The Night Josh Tillman Came to Our Apt.” by Father John Misty
  9. “Fool for Love” by Lord Huron. (Cowboy Apocalypse music, as I call it. This was my soundtrack to one of my favorite reads of the year, Jonathan Hickman’s East of West)
  10. “Someone New” by Hozier (Watch this video. It has the internet’s girlfriend Natalie Dormer in it)
  11. “When You Need Someone” by David Wax Museum (as usual, my favorite live show of the year)
  12. “Won’t Last” by RDGLDGRN (discovered this song through their awesome Goonies homage video)
  13. “Lean On” by Major Lazer with Mo and DJ Snake (catchiest song of the year)
  14. “Magnets” by Disclosure and Lorde
  15. “Coming Home” by Leon Bridges
